Gene therapy has reinvigorated damaged heart cells in the lab, a step towards new treatments for heart failure.

Researchers at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Duke University in Durham, North Carolina used a virus to carry a gene into heart cells of people with congestive heart failure.
