What’s up with Boston? LED boards featuring a Mooninite character for Adult Swim cartoon "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" had been placed for weeks in 10 other US cities, but caused a bomb scare only in Beantown. Looks like their "anti-terrorist" training really paid off…
The devices displayed one of the "Mooninites," outer-space delinquents who make frequent appearances on the cartoon, greeting passersby with a raised middle finger. Nine were reported around Boston on Wednesday, sending police bomb squads scrambling and snarling traffic and mass transit in one of the largest U.S. cities.
So the real question now is how well did the marketing work? With all the press this has been getting, everyone will know who the "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is. Won’t you just want to see that movie more than ever or what?
