Who says toys are for kids? In Japan, we believe that everyone — including our parents and grandparents — should have playthings too.
Since September, I’ve been surfing my home country’s best department stores and online retailers for crazy, fun and creative toys for grownups. Some are multifunctional, others are utterly useless. Together, they give us some insight into the jokes and quirks that underlie Japanese consumer culture.
