Celent said that 10% of online
banking US households will use mobile banking by the end of 2008. The
company said that about 46 million US households currently bank online.

A projected 30% of US households overall will bank using their mobile phones in 2010.

Although some banks will feature a full suite of services like
bill payment and funds transfers, others will just offer basic services
like balance inquiries.

The way that customers use their phones to bank will vary by
financial services provider. Some will use SMS, while others will use a
downloadable product or mobile browser.

Celent said it expected most of the top 50 banks to launch some kind of mobile service in 2008.
