Contrary to Steve Jobs’ assertion
at the Macworld Expo that "people don’t read anymore," books are as
popular as ever, particularly on the Internet.

In fact, books are the most purchased item online, according to a Nielsen Online survey of 26,312 people in 48 countries.
The survey found that 41% of Internet users had bought a book online.
Two years ago, the same could be said for only 34% of Internet users.
South Korea had the greatest percentage of its population buying books online, or 58% of Internet users.
In the US, 57.5 million people have bought books online, representing 38% of US Internet users.
In the UK, 14.4 million people bought books online, or 45% of British Internet users. Via eMarketer
