Unshredder Pieces Together Shredded Documents

Unshredder Pieces Together Shredded Documents

The release of the unshredder software is definitely something to get the security focused mind thinking. The Unshredder is a device which can reconstruct on your computer a shredded document so you can read the text on the screen.

The unshredder is quick to learn according to it’s creator and can piece together documents that are torn, cross shred and strip shred in a matter of minutes. Once all the pieces are put together you can then save a copy of the original image which can then be emailed, faxed or printed ready for storage.

It appears that the main purpose of this software is for investigators to piece back together evidence for legal type cases. The process used before was to manually piece pieces together which is a time consuming process.

This kind of system makes me want to shred all my documents a good 5 times before throwing them in the bin outside.
