Calculate Your Carbon Footprints With Carbon Diem

Calculate Your Carbon Footprints With Carbon Diem

Being irresponsible towards the environment is a sure way of bruising one’s eco-conscience. But with evolving technology and design brain-storming, one has to just look around to find devices and simple ways to keep the ultimatum of destruction at bay. Carbon Diem is one such technology of the future that would be soon available on GPS enabled phones.

The automated carbon calculator interprets the amount of carbon exhaled by the trends in your travel routine. GPS helps in determining the pace of your commuting and accordingly helps in calculating the amount of carbon prints in atmosphere. It doesn’t call for any participation from the user’s end. The developer of the software, Andreas Zachariah, has checked the efficiency of this software of Nokia and Blackberry phones. The tests showed that the software was 100% correct when judging whether the user is on air-travel or trains but the accuracy scaled down to 65-70% with respect to bus-travel.

Pricing and Availability:
Carbon Diem will hit the retail desk of vendors in spring next year. No word on pricing yet.

Watch this:

With GPS becoming a “must-have” feature in phones, people wouldn’t mind adding an extra eco-application. It is a dainty software that will issue subtle indirect warnings to the user, reminding them to be careful about their commuting habits.
