Can we get more people to take the stairs over the escalator by making it fun to do?

The Fun Theory is dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. The Fun Theory Award

The Fun Theory Award recongizes those thoughts, ideas and inventions that help prove the fun theory.  That fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better.  The Piano Staircase, the World’s Deepest Bin and the Bottle Bank Arcade Machine are just three examples of what you could do. 

Can we get more people to throw rubbish into the bin, rather than onto the ground, by making it fun to do?

The competition closes December 15th, 2009.  The jury will then sit down and go through all of the entries and pick out the ten best.  The ten best entries will then go to a final and will be revealed in December in Stockholm, Sweden.

Many of us return our plastic bottles and cans. Noticeably fewer recycle their glass. Maybe that’s because we don’t get any money in return, as we do for cans and plastic. Can we change this attitude by making recycling glass fun to do?
