Scientists have discovered an enzyme in muscle tissue which when stimulated mimics the effect of exercise, and all that remains is to find a drug which can activate this enzyme. The study was conducted by Dr. R. Sanders Williams, dean of the Duke University School of Medicine, and a team of colleagues from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and their findings were published in respected journal Science.
