A small start-up company, Virtual Devices Inc., has just revealed the project they’ve been working on for some time now – a cigar-sized gadget that projects an image of a virtual keyboard onto any surface, and allows you to type on it as if it was a real one. The big winner, says the company, are frustrated handheld owners.
This pocket-sized device plugs into your handheld and utilises a three-dimensional, solid-state, laser-imaging system to project a full size keyboard on any flat surface. The gadget uses tiny cameras to track where somebody is putting their fingers in relation to a map of a full-sized keyboard, reports News.com, and from there translates that movement into actual data which is reflected on the handheld device.
