A technique used to treat male infertility is as safe as IVF but it may increase the odds of having a girl, scientists said on Monday.



Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), in which a single sperm is injected into an egg, has allowed men with poor quality, or low, sperm counts to become fathers but doctors were concerned that it could increase the risk of congenital abnormalities in the baby.
