Who wants to be a cosmonaut?
Space agency Rosaviakosmos and Russia’s state-owned First Channel have joined forces to create a high-stakes television game show that will send the winner blasting off on a mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
“We have signed a contract with the First Channel. I can’t say yet what amount it was for, but this may be released in December,” Rosaviakosmos spokesman Sergei Gorbunov told Reuters on Wednesday.
The game show is the latest in a string of creative efforts to make ends meet by the cash-strapped Russian space program, struggling since the collapse of the Soviet Union. More here.
