A new opinion poll suggests that 40 per cent of Canadians believe some people have “special abilities” that allow them to predict the future.

However, the soothsaying notion was dismissed by 54 per cent of respondents in the Leger Marketing study, while six per cent refused to answer or said they didn’t know.

The poll of 1,501 Canadians also found that nine per cent believe their horoscope – the daily generalities that tell people things such as “Trust your own judgment,” “You exude sex appeal and must be discriminating” or “Express beliefs in your passionate way.”
