Britain’s science academy says there is no evidence to suggest that eating genetically modified food is more dangerous than eating non-genetically modified food.



In two submissions to a government-sponsored review, the Royal Society says that genetically modified ingredients have the same potential to reduce nutritional quality and cause allergic reactions as non-genetically modified ingredients.


It also says that there is no credible evidence to support the theory that people can be damaged by eating DNA sequences created through genetic modification.
