A new type of genetic analysis has proven 90% accurate at predicting the course of breast cancer’s progression.

Researchers believe that the analysis will give a more accurate prognosis that enables doctors to make more informed choices about which breast cancer patients will benefit from treatments such as chemotherapy.

Using genetic profiling, a form of genetic testing, the analysis helps predict the course of cancer to aid decisions about whether patients require aggressive treatment.

It could alter the way all cancers are treated.
