Virgin boss Richard Branson has bought an Australian island for his staff.

The billionaire splashed out £2 million for Makepeace Island, in the Noosa river on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.



He plans to turn the heart-shaped retreat into an eco-tourism site for all the staff employed at his Virgin Group to use.



Branson described the venture as “a heartfelt thanks to the Virgin team.” He currently has 25,000 employees.
