Citing growth in no-frills carriers, Singapore Transport Minister Yeo Cheow Tong said the country will build a dedicated passenger terminal to serve them at Changi Airport.

Yeo said the idea for the facility came after he visited budget airline terminals in Stansted and Luton airports in England. They serve EasyJet and Ryanair.

“The Changi budget terminal will not have aerobridges. Instead, passengers will have to walk to the aircraft and if it rains they will have to make a run for it,” Yeo pointed out.
