A handheld hydrogen reactor has been developed that could power a small home on alcohol and water when coupled with a fuel cell.

The reactor, invented by researchers at the University of Minnesota, is poised to remove a major obstacle to the “hydrogen economy.”



In the quest for a post-fossil fuel energy infrastructure, hydrogen is seen as a good energy currency because it is potentially renewable and, unlike fossil fuels, doesn’t pollute when burned.
