Thousands of Argentine post menopause women are getting gifts for donating urine.

According to La Nacion newspaper the women from Buenos Aires, Zarate and La Plata are being encouraged to donate urine by receiving gifts such as glass jugs and fridges.

The institutions sell the urine for companies that make fertility drugs using a hormone taken from the urine of post menopausal women.

For every 200 thousand litres of urine one gram of the hormone is obtained.

Spokesperson for Massarone Institute said: “Last year we exported 14 million doses of the medication and we hope to increase that this year.

“The gifts are great incentives and lots of women are coming for them, bringing their sisters, mothers and friends.”
