Every year the Chinese city of Harbin is transformed by the festival of ice and snow and this time around they’re aiming for world records including the longest ice slide and the biggest ever ice sculpture. Very cool video.
The north-eastern city was badly hit in November when an explosion at a chemical factory polluted the Songhua river, poisoning drinking water for some three million people.
Water for this year’s sculptures has been taken from unaffected tributaries for safety.
