The average British woman spends an astonishing £36,903.75 – (70,151.04 USD) on her hair in a lifetime.

And they will spend the equivalent of nearly two years washing, styling, cutting, colouring, crimping and straightening their locks.

That equates to 41 minutes a day. A poll of 2,500 British women found they typically spend £24.11 a month on shampoos, conditioners and styling products.

Another £301.14 a year goes on trips to the salon.

Two-thirds said they wanted a straight hairdo like Friends star Jennifer Aniston and TV’s Davina McCall.

Other hair remedies include washing hair in beer (tried by 14 per cent), squirting on lemon juice for highlights (27 per cent) and raw eggs to get a glossy shine (10 per cent).

Boots, which carried out the survey, said: “Poker-straight hair is a look most women want to achieve — and we’re selling more straightening irons than ever before.”
