BOSTON — An anaconda at a Boston aquarium was given an ultrasound examination to see if she’s expecting.
However, the test on Kathleen, one of two female anacondas at the New England Aquarium, was inconclusive.
The veterinarian plans to do exams on the 14-foot snake for the next two months to determine if Kathleen is pregnant.
The female anaconda that shares the Amazon exhibit with Kathleen and another male is definitely pregnant. She’s expected to deliver in December.
Anacondas are native to South America. They can grow to more than 30 feet and as big around as a grown man.
