A SCHEME by technology giant IBM to encourage more women to choose a career in IT by asking employees to bring their daughters to work has been hailed a success.

The firm, which has a base on St Andrew Square, held its "Take your daughters to work week " this week. The event involved a range of activities, including playing a robot at Connect 4 and shadowing various employees.

Alun Rees, an IBM executive, said: "The girls kept us on our toes, asking some interesting questions and reminding us why it’s important for IBM to run these events."
