High-definition televisions were the most-wanted item among respondents, with 15.2% saying they wanted one. New video game consoles took the second, third and fourth spots.

Many US consumers want gadgets this holiday, according to CompTIA.

Nearly 14% of respondents wanted Sony’s PlayStation 3. About 11% wanted a Nintendo Wii, and about one out of ten respondents wanted an Xbox 360 from Microsoft.

Roughly one-tenth of respondents wanted a new PC.

About 5% of those answering the survey wanted a digital camcorder, digital camera or mobile phone.

CompTIA surveyed 1,012 online consumers during November 2007.
