Part Segway, part skiing, part stroller, part cool design
Designer Sarah Park has drafted a concept to outfit the Segway Personal Transporter with dual handlebars that work as a “skiing-like steering mechanism.” The size of the handlebars are similar to those of a baby stroller and navigated in a similar fashion. More photos after the jump.
The size of the new device is about the same as a baby stroller. If you’ve ever pushed a baby stroller, you know how it’s usually not a problem even if you’re tall, so the design factor works. The dual handlebars of this new device makes the navigation similar to both pushing a stroller and skiing down a slope.
You ride it in reverse of the way you’d first think. The design will add speed and stability to a long line of slow-moving personal transportation devices.
