Here’s a somewhat unsettling proposition: using your skin as an antenna for wireless devices or medical implants. Yes, your skin would be the conductor, sending signals along the outside of your body and saving energy by using the energy already in you.
It’d actually be a pretty beneficial tech, once you get over the heebie geebies. You’d wear a little controller on your hip that would send out the signals or it would be in the device itself, if it was implanted. It’s much more battery efficient than such techs as Bluetooth, making it great for things like pacemakers that are, to say the least, not a fun thing to change the batteries on. The scientists responsible for the new skintenna tech have applied for a patent and we should see it in action in the near future.
