Ovalia Egg Chair Back From The 60’s

Ovalia Egg Chair

Egg Chairs are so much fun, literally. The iconic Ovalia Egg Chair, which was exhibited for the first time at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair in 1968, is now up for sale again with some technical upgrades.

The 2008 version of the Henrik Thor-Larsen’s classic chair shares the same design as that of the original. It touts a shell of glass fiber-reinforced polyester painted shiny white along with polyester cushions in a choice of over 20 colors. The difference between the original and the latest model is the inclusion of an integrated and fully upholstered speaker system from JBL. Oh yes, I just forgot to mention that this is the same chair used in the movie Men in Black I & II. Only 900 Ovalia Egg Chairs will be put into production, with each carrying a price tag of $7700.
