Mo1
So you say there is still time before technology finally takes off big time. Kids need phones, or do we still think so?
Called the Mo1, developed by toy chain store ItsImagical, it is the world’s first major mobile phone customized especially for kids. Gearing for a release in Hong Kong this month, the Mo1 is a phone intended for kids 6 to 12 years old, with both safely and independent features. With kid’s abduction rates rising these days, there is a need of safety devices for them. This phone with no numbers on the keypad, and an embedded GPS-based “Find Me Service” is an ideal security gadget to let the parents know of their child’s whereabouts by just calling on them. The phone has a retail price of HKD 1280 (~$165), and has a speakerphone and a speed-dial facility.
