CES 2009
The Consumer Electronic Show 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada has more than 2,700 exhibitors that fill more than 1.7 million net square feet of exhibit space to showcase their latest products and services to more than 130,000 attendees. Here are just a few examples of consumer electronic products trying to make it into the marketplace.
EcoButton
Simple ideas are sometimes the best: This UK company has a button that, when you push it, puts your computer instantly into “suspend” mode, dropping your power consumption by about 80%. Perfect for when you’re at lunch or done for the day.
Samsung very thin TV screen prototype
Check out this baby. That’s a TV screen and it’s no thicker than a sheet or two of paper. Imagine this as wallpaper…
Phone watch
Can’t afford the fancy LG phone watch? No worries, manufacturers in Hong Kong are already making the very same thing, and with a lot more bling.
Pogo Sketch
This is cool: the Pogo Sketch is a little pen that uses some special sort of inductive electrical end so that you can use it as a stylus for your iPhone or other touch-sensitive device. Simple, smart.
Autonet
Nicely done Internet wifi hotspot for your car. My initial thought was “uh, can’t you get away from the net?” but think Slacker Radio / Pandora / Internet radio, live real-time traffic, networking gaming for the kids, and more. Slick, well done solution.
3M Video Projector
This is cool: 3m’s handheld video projector (on left) is smaller than an iPod Touch. Very impressive!!
