Bigger brains are better at learning

When it comes to intelligence, size does matter, it seems, for a new study has revealed that people with bigger brains are actually better at learning than those who have smaller ones.

In their study of how people perform on video games, an international team claims to have discovered that those who have larger brains had better hand-eye coordination and were able to think more quickly than the pea-brained counterparts.

The study, led by the University of Illinois, found that the size of the brain which controlled how quickly people learn was a key indicator of success, a finding which could help in the study of brain diseases.

“Such information might be useful in education, where longer training time may be required for some students or in treating disability or dementia,” lead scientist Prof Arthur Kramer was quoted by the ‘Daily Express’ as saying.
