Special beer is intended to be consumed by space tourists.
A stiff competition is going on between the space tourism companies to be the first to take you on adventurous journeys beyond the blue sky. Here is some great news for those beer lovers who are planning to buy a ticket to space. The 4-Pines Brewing Company (aka Vostok Pty Ltd) and Saber Astronautics Australia have teamed up to produce a special beer, which is indented to be consumed by space tourists in low gravity environments. Here is an excerpt from the Vostok Pty Ltd Facebook page:
As space exploration becomes more commercial, it is likely to support a market for the tasty brew. While the brew is designed to be enjoyed in low gravity environments (i.e., a space station, the Moon, or Mars) it will also be tasty on Earth and available for the general public at affordable costs.
Astronauts4Hire, a non-profit space research corporation, will conduct the tests on the world’s first beer to be certified for consumption in space. The testing will begin in November aboard the Zero Gravity Corporation’s modified Boeing aircraft. Earlier, Japanese brewery Sapporo, in collaboration with Okayama University in Japan and the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, produced Space Barley, a beer made from the barley grown that grew on the International Space Station.
