What can you film in 48 hours?

The International film competition by the 48 Hour Film Project is starting up again. The filmmakers have just 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a film project, and this year the theme is focused entirely on green. The grand prize is $5,000, so if you have a video camera, check out this competition!

According to Ecorazzi, last year’s project had nearly 40,000 film makers submit 3,000 films from 76 cities across the world.

This year, the rules are slightly shifted. The 48 Hour Go Green Challenge starts on Friday, February 18, 2011. Each team is given a character, a prop and a line of dialogue from which to create a film themed around the environment — including, animals, energy, forests, oceans, water and other elements. It can be any genre, and needs to be submitted at the end of 48 hours. First prize earns $5,000, second is $2,000 and third is $1,000. And all the winning films are screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner and NABShow in Las Vegas.
