A new computational language, which can describe biology like a biologist, has been developed by Jeremy Gunawardena, director of the Virtual Cell Program in Harvard Medical School. This would help researchers in studying drug interactions among other things, right on the computer.

Athletes looking for a performance boost are increasingly turning to a little blue pill more usually taken for its off-the-field benefits: Viagra.
Some sports authorities say the drug is now finding a following among athletes. The World Anti-Doping Agency is currently studying Viagra’s effects in athletes but hasn’t yet banned it. Experts are divided over whether it actually offers athletes an edge.

Engineers have demonstrated how to make microscale origami-like containers that could be used as drug delivery devices in the body. The hinged structures were created in polysilicon and are only 30 micrometers on a side. (One inch is 25,400 micrometers.)
