If your browser supports HTML5 you can opt into the experimental HTML5 video playback on YouTube. Not only will you get smoother video playback—goodbye Flash!—but you’ll be able to speed up and slow down your videos.

The variable speed control is great for seeing things in slow motion. DIY and tutorial videos often go too fast and watching something in slow motion is usually better than having to watch the same section over and over again to see what is happening.

Family Of Sci Fi Author Philip K. Dick To Sue Google Over Name of Nexus One Phone

Don’t screw with Dick!

The family of author Philip K. Dick is threatening to sue Google for infringement of intellectual property rights over the name of its new mobile phone Nexus One.

Isa Dick Hackett, daughter of the U.S. author who wrote Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which the Blade Runner film is based on, claims some of the phone’s features use names taken from her father’s book.

She has sent a letter to Google demanding that the online giant changes the name of its new phone, which was launched as a direct rival to the iPhone.

Nathan Jurevicius’ Scarygirl Flash Game


Have you had your dose of Scarygirl today?

In 2000, Australian artist Nathan Jurevicius created a character named Scarygirl, a cute but slightly odd little girl who has a giant octopus as a guardian, and thought of a game. Flash forward nine years later, he has finally finished it.

New iPhone 3G Great, But Maybe Not So Great



The new iPhone has some sweet new features. As an iPod owner, I can say that a 3G network connection, GPS, and a headphone jack that isn’t completely ridiculous are great additions to an already impressive gadget, and will go a long way to swaying me toward getting one. But let’s be honest – we all had a wish list of stuff we wanted to see in the iPhone the Sequel, and it’s doubtful everyone was satisfied.
