Correct Coral Care is Critical to a Healthy Plantet

At the World Oceans Conference 2009 in Manado, Indonesia, scientists are focusing on the Coral Reef Triangle, a section of ocean near the nations of Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor and the Solomon islands. The Coral Reef Triangle is home to the largest number of diverse coral species on the planet, and while it remains relatively healthy right now, researchers know that it is only a matter of time before climate change and pollution do their damage…unless we put in place a few rules right now.

The six regional governments, Australia, and the US are all working to implement the Coral Reef Initiative, a move that puts forward six rules of thumb for how to maintain healthy coral reefs.

Sometimes exercise can be bad for you

It is considered that exercise is an effective path to good health, but a new study has shown that exercise may lead to faster prostate tumor growth, and thus hasten the decline of some cancer patients.

Researchers at the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center (DCCC) and the Duke Prostate Center, who looked at prostate tumours in mice, found that cancerous cells multiplied twice as quickly when the animals were active.

U-Haul Ranks Colorado 1st for Inbound Moves

Colorado ranked as the top growth state for families last year, according to U-Haul International Inc., which compiles the list based on moves to and from states.

U-Haul said that for states with more than 20,000 families, Colorado had the highest percentage of growth, with 7.01 percent more families moving in than out of the state.

 China’s Economy Grows By 65.5% in Past Five Years

China’s economy grew by 65.5 percent over the past five years, or an average annual increase of 10.6 percent, to become the world’s fourth largest economy, Premier Wen Jiabao said at the annual parliament session on Wednesday.

He said the country’s gross domestic product reached 24.66 trillion yuan (US$3.425 trillion) last year, while total government revenue reached 5.13 trillion yuan (US$712 billion), a 171 percent rise in five years.
