68 wingsuit skydiving in formation over Lake Elsinore, California

Almost 70 skydivers took part in the ‘Largest Wingsuit Formation Dive’ in US history, after spending months perfecting the stunt.  The 68 skydivers had to qualify in order to be part of the jump over Lake Elsinore, California.

The man with the most body piercings is John Lynch a.k.a. ‘Prince Albert’, who was counted as having 241 piercings, including 151 in his head and neck, in Hammersmith, London, on 17 October 2008

The Bloodhound Supersonic Car Capable of Reaching 1,000 mph

British engineers have started building what they hope will be the world’s fastest car – capable of reaching 1,000mph.  The Bloodhound SSC (Supersonic car) will be powered by a jet engine from Eurofighter Typhoon being positioned above a hybrid rocket. This combination should produce 135,000 horsepower — equivalent to the power of 180 Formula One cars.

Korean designer Rhea Jeong says she’s been astounded by the amount of interest in her conceptual Void LP record player. One look at the design and you can see why it’s made so much noise without even uttering a sound. Close your eyes and imagine a little red globe spinning around on top of a vinyl record emitting sound from speakers inside it. The record itself is suspended in mid-air above a simple black base unit – no strings attached, no wires holding it up and definitely no safety net. The imagery is quite simply jaw-dropping. But can such a thing really work?

British Diver Breaks Depth Record On A Single Breath


Diving to New Depths

A woman from London has set a new freediving world record after swimming 96m (318ft) below the surface of the ocean and back in a single breath. Sara Campbell, 37, from Wandsworth, spent 3min 36sec submerged off an island in the Bahamas.

The dive in the Vertical Blue contest took her down the equivalent of the height of Big Ben’s clock tower.

In October 2007 she smashed all world depth records within 48 hours, after only nine months in the extreme sport. Her latest feat, is known as the constant weight world record, in which the diver must use just a monofin – a mermaid like tail – and their own power.
