Jet Cyclist Hits 73 MPH And Lives

rocketman_01sized.jpg

So much for street bikes. This bike really burns some serious rubber.

Motor madman Bob Maddox is back with a twin-engine jet bike that makes the raucous rocket he rode last year look tame.

He recently bolted a dual-exhaust pulse jet engine to the side of an ordinary bicycle, donned a leather jacket and helmet and then held on tight as he peeled off a 73-mph run down a deserted back road. And we thought he was crazy when he hit 50 mph on one of his single-engine contraptions last year. Continue reading… “Jet Cyclist Hits 73 MPH And Lives”

Donut-Shaped Wind Energizer Improves Wind Turbine Efficiency

Better air dynamics

A company called Leviathan Energy has come up with a clever way to improve the efficiency of wind turbines, without making any modifications to the turbines or propellers themselves. Using aerodynamic modeling, Leviathan designed a special plastic and metal skirt structure that wraps around the base of the wind turbine and directs the flow of the air to the critical areas of the blades. The system is guaranteed to increase the power output of a wind turbine by at least 15-30%, and at lower wind speeds (0-6 meters per second) the gains can be as high as 150%.

Wind Powered GreenBird Breaks Land Speed Record

Wind powered transportation is nothing new to this planet. While it has remained on the lakes and oceans for the most part, there are a few people out there who have brought it onto dry land. One such person, Richard Jenkins, has taken wind power to a new level by breaking the land speed record for a wind powered vehicle.

Where Russian Supersonic Jets Go To Die

Some parts of the plane still work!

Tu-144 which first flew on 31 December 1968 (two months before Concorde) is the fastest supersonic commercial airliner ever made. Despite the similarity of the Tu-144 to Concorde, there were significant differences in the control, navigation and engine systems. The Tu-144 was in some ways a more technologically advanced aircraft, but in areas such as range, aerodynamic sophistication, braking and engine control, it lagged behind Concorde.  A total of 16 airworthy Tu-144s were built, Aeroflot had only made 55 scheduled passenger flights with their Tu-144s before they put them out of service.  (PICS)

Street Legal Race Car Limo Will Hit 300 MPH

Street Legal Race Car Limo Will Hit 300 MPH

 GP Limo

What you see here is probably the most awesomest way to arrive at a senior prom that you could possibly imagine. The GP Limo was designed and built by Michael Pettipas to seat 7 people (6 passengers and an experienced driver) and you might think that providing an authentic F1 experience to his riders would be enough, but apparently it’s not. You see Michael actually wants the GP Limo to beat the Bugatti Veyron’s 253 mph record for a street legal vehicle. (Yeah, believe it or not the GP Limo is actually street legal!)

Smartfish Pro Self-Adjusting Ergonomic Keyboard

Smartfish Pro Self-Adjusting Ergonomic Keyboard

 Smartfish Pro

Typing on the computer all day can lead to some problems. And I’m not talking lack of sleep and a steady diet of Hot Pockets. I’m talking carpal tunnel syndrome. Between comments on Facebook, twitter, gaming and commenting, we are all just one keystroke away from carpal tunnel at any given time. The Smartfish Pro is designed to help prevent it rather then causing it.
