I will present our findings on first on reading the genetic code, and then learning to synthesize and write the genetic code, and as many of you know, we synthesized an entire genome, booted it up to create an entirely new synthetic cell where every protein in the cell was based on the synthetic DNA code.

‘Genetic editing’ works by using enzymes to unlock the DNA.
Scientists have edited the genetic code in a breakthrough that could lead to new treatments for some hereditary diseases. The scientists managed to persuade cells in mice to repair a faulty gene but, instead of recreating the flawed piece, the cells generated a healthy one.
Scientists claim they have come up with an entirely new way to rewrite the genetic code – reversing any flaws or faults.
Genetic diseases result from flaws in the body’s DNA that lead to the cells not functioning or developing as they should. But, the genetic faults that cause diseases such as cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and some cancers could be repaired in a new technique described as a “miracle of modern medicine.”
