A wider wedge is being driven between the wealthy and everybody else due to high gas prices.  The rich are back to pre-recession-style splurging: Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom customers are treating themselves to luxury items like $5,000 Hermes handbags and $700 Jimmy Choo shoes, and they’re paying full price.

FTC Proposes Stricter Guidelines on Food Ads for Children

Regulators are asking food makers and restaurant companies to make a choice: make your products healthier or stop advertising them to youngsters.

The Federal Trade Commission has proposed sweeping new guidelines that could push the food industry to overhaul how it advertises cereal, soda pop, snacks, restaurant meals and other foods to children.

151 Materials in Food or Feed Have Been Blacklisted by China

China is waging a prolonged and stringent fight against the illegal use of additives in food.

151 materials forbidden or abusable in food and feed over the past nine years have been blacklisted by China, according to figures released by the food safety committee under the State Council, or China’s Cabinet.
