Musk unveiled his idea for a next-generation transportation system on August 12th, and it got the attention of about every news organization between Earth and Mars, where Musk hopes to aim his rockets one day.

Uber to purchase 2,500 driverless cars from Google

Uber has committed to invest up to $375 million for a fleet of Google’s GX3200 vehicles.

News from the Future – July 25, 2023:  The local transportation and delivery giant, Uber, has announced as part of its second quarter earnings, saying it would buy 2,500 driverless cars from Google. The two companies have agreed to a deal in which Uber will share data from its local transportation services with Google, which will use it to further improve its own autonomous car-routing algorithms.

Elon Musk reveals plan for the Hyperloop

Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX and Tesla announced about a year ago his idea of a “fifth mode of transportation” called the Hyperloop. Since then the founder he has been constantly peppered with questions about how the system works and when he might reveal his plan for such an invention. Musk has finally revealed his plan for the Hyperloop, complete with illustrations, technical explanations, financial hurdles, and even a potential first route. (Pics)

For most Bay Area residents in California, commuting is a way of life.  Many people are used to an hour commute each way without traffic. Some people in the Bay Area even commute to Southern California several times a month, spending several hours each way either in the car or fighting through airports.
