Scientists in China have used jellyfish DNA to create glow-in-the-dark piglets. A technique developed by the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Medicine allows the ten piglets to glow green under black fluorescent lights.

The average American adult requires between 7 and 9 hours of sleep every day.
According to a new study from Duke University, women need more sleep than men. The researchers have discovered that, compared to men, women experience more mental and physical consequences from inadequate rest. Besides giving half the population a legitimate reason to sleep in, the findings could also inspire new health recommendations for women at greater risk of heart disease, depression, and psychological problems.

Edward Snowden has been named the 2013 Lifeboat Foundation Guardian Award winner in recognition of his quest to get the U.S. government to be transparent about the surveillance it is engaging of its citizens. It is worth noting that no government is being transparent in how it does surveillance so this issue is relevant to all countries.

Millennials will account for 75% of the global workforce by 2025 and by next year, they will account for 36% of the American workforce. For those of you new to the coding world, Github has become the goto place in the cloud where developers store their code. For many, it has become the replacement for traditional resumes, because prospective employers can view their latest projects in great detail.
Less than a year ago, in January, GitHub was closing in on the 5 million repos* milestone. Today, the company announced it’s hosting 10 million repos and counting. (”Repo” is short for “repository.” “Repository” is where your code lives.
