City dwellers suffer more stress and anxiety than their rural counterparts

Different parts of the brain are used depending on where you live.

People born and bred in cities were more likely to suffer anxiety or mood disorders than their rural counterparts.  People living in the countryside are less likely to suffer stress and anxiety than city dwellers because their brains are wired differently, a study has found.

FDA unveils graphic warning labels for all cigarette packs

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in a dramatic bid to get more Americans to quit smoking, on Tuesday released nine graphic warning labels that will appear on all packs of cigarettes by no later than September 2012.

There’s a simple cure – keep a cool head!  Insomnia is associated with increased metabolism in the brain’s frontal cortex, and the metabolism can be reduced by literally cooling that part of the brain, via regional cerebral hypothermia, according to research from the Sleep Neuroimaging Research Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

There are more internet and gaming addicts in China than in any other country. China  also conducts more research on the issue than anyone. Chinese researchers think that excessive gaming and internet use can permanently alter brain function, according to a new study.
