U.S. poverty rate hits 15.1%
Income fell for the third straight year in 2010 in the typical American household. The poverty level rose up to its highest leve since 1993 as the aftermath of the latest recession continued to take a toll.

And regional accents are alive and well in America. ,William Labov, a professor of linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, says, in fact, regional accents are becoming stronger and more different from each other although it’s not entirely clear why.

Post office is the latest casualty of digital technology.
Digital technology is slowly but steadily replacing working humans. And the latest casualty of digital technology is the U.S. Postal Service. The post office is going to have to drastically scale back its operations or shut down altogether if they don’t find an external source of funding. 600,000 people will be out of work and another 480,000 pensioners facing an adjustment in terms.
