China opens more spy schools as it steps up intelligence operation

China opens National Intelligence College on the campus of Hunan University.

China opened its eighth National Intelligence College on the campus of Hunan University in the central city of Changsha last week. Since January, similar training schools have opened inside universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Qingdao and Harbin.

Almost two-thirds of deaths in the world are caused by noncommunicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart and lung disease which are rapidly increasing at a cost to the global economy of trillions of dollars, according to U.N. estimates and preliminary results of a new study.

Minorities make up a majority of babies in the U.S., for the first time ever.  The ‘cultural generation gap’ is part of a sweeping race change and a growing age divide between mostly white, older Americans and predominantly minority youths that could reshape government policies.

FDA unveils graphic warning labels for all cigarette packs

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in a dramatic bid to get more Americans to quit smoking, on Tuesday released nine graphic warning labels that will appear on all packs of cigarettes by no later than September 2012.
