The PowerPot can be used anywhere at any time.

The PowerPot is an amazing new product! It is a 5-15 watt electrical generator that is capable of charging any USB device! It’s waterproof, fire-resistant, and extremely portable, weighing in at just 12 ounces! Take it anywhere and use it day or night to charge cell phones, GPS devices, speakers, lights/lanterns, and more!

The PowerPot is one of the featured exhibitors at the DaVinci Inventor Showcase, which takes place on Oct 13, 2012 at the Denver Merchandise Mart.

After the jump, inventor David Toledo opens up about how he created a thermoelectric power generator for the masses, sourcing components for high temperature applications, and how he figured out all of the electronics needed for using the electricity generated by the PowerPot.

Sealander Amphibious Camping Trailer

Sealander

You don’t have to decide between a weekend getaway spent at a relaxing campsite or cruising around a lake with the Sealander. Or at least, you no longer have to bring both a canoe and a camping trailer since the Sealander, created by industrial designer Daniel Straub, actually floats on water. Its wide, bowl-shaped design not only provides stability while floating, but it can easily navigate shallow waters without running aground. It also means you don’t need a trailer or a boat launch to get it in the water. Backing it up to a sufficiently cleared shoreline should be more than enough. (Pics)

Hüttenpalast

Want a great concept for a new hotel?  Just  convert an old, unused vacuum factory space into a budget boutique hotel.  And even better, use refurbished mobile campers for rooms. Berlin’s new and attractive Hüttenpalast (that’s German for “hut palace”) has done just that.  It is in the beautiful old workers’ quarter of Neukölln: allowing guests to experience the cozy camping feeling, without the bugs and in the middle of a vibrant city. But it’s not exactly  ‘roughing it’ in the solitary sense.  The caravans are beautifully remodeled.  The bathrooms are “luxurious”.   And guests can socialize with each other without the rowdiness usually associated with cheap hostels.
