Straight A students may live longer, according to the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study. The Wisconsin Longitudinal Study has been following more than 10,000 people who graduated from Wisconsin high schools in 1957. Those students who finished in the top 25 percent of their high school class were healthier, decades later, than the ones who finished in the bottom quarter.

Students can now rent e-textbooks for periods from 30 to 360 days.
E-book textbook rentals have just been introduced by Amazon just in time for the fall semester. This will allow students to save up to 80 percent on some titles. E-textbook rentals can be viewed not just on Amazon’s e-reader (and rumored Amazon tablet) but also on any device that can download the Kindle app including PCs, iOS devices, and Android phones and tablets. The rental option isn’t available for general interest e-books, just e-book versions of textbooks.

Philippine call centers now employ more agents than India in a shift in the booming business away from its traditional home. Some call center operations in India have even moved part of their business to the Philippines.
Some schools are already using textbooks displayed on notebook computers.
All of South Korea’s elementary-level educational materials will be digitized by 2014. And by 2015, the entire school-age curriculum will be delivered on an array of computers, smart phones and tablets. South Korea’s education ministry is yet to announce the make or model of the devices it will purchase, it has revealed it will spend $2.4 billion buying the requisite tablets and digitizing material for them.
