Harvard geneticist looking for ‘adventurous’ woman to give birth to a Neanderthal baby

Professor George Church of Harvard Medical School is looking for an “adventurous” woman to give birth to a baby Neanderthal.  It sounds like the plot of another Jurassic Park sequel, but the request is actually part of Professor Church’s real-life plan to bring our long-extinct relative back to life.

Older Dad’s linked to kids’ risk for genetic ailments

Father’s age is linked to increased genetic risk.

Solid evidence has been found by scientists that older men have more random mutations in their sperm cells. They’re warning that can cause autism, schizophrenia and a long list of other genetic diseases in their offspring.

23andMe asking FDA to approve personalized DNA test

23andMe is part of a fledgling industry that allows consumers to peek into their genetic code.

23andMe, a genetic test maker,  is asking the Food and Drug Administration to approve its personalized DNA test in a move that, if successful, could boost acceptance of technology that is viewed skeptically by leading scientists who question its usefulness.
