We are getting closer to traveling safely at 760 miles per hour using magnets

hyperloop one system

Using a “passive” levitating system, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, has found a safe way to travel at 760 mph. The ultra-fast rail system is similar to the Maglev train in Asia, but should be cheaper to install and operate. The pod will also be able to charge automatically harnessing energy caused by breaking.

Even in 1981 inventors were trying to solve the Internets problems of privacy, security and inclusion with cryptography. With every new process, no solution was perfect, because a third party was involved. Paying with credit card was insecure because too much personal information was involved and transaction fees were steep. In 1998, Nick Szabo wrote a short paper entitled “The God Protocol” in which his point was: Doing business on the Internet requires a leap of faith.

Microscopic robots get tiny practical engines

nanoscale-engine-2

Making machines smaller and smaller is becoming easier and easier to the point we can now make working machines that are only the size of complex molecules. The problem is making them work. Researchers have tried various power an propulsion systems, but they lack  speed, strength and control. However, with the creation of tiny engines, nanobots could be coming to living cells near you.

Pharmeceutical companies need to change their business strategies to keep up in the digital age

digitalpills

High drug prices are restricting people who need access to potentially life saving medications, from getting what they need. In the U.S. when government authorized patents expire, pharmaceutical companies rush to buy the patents and raise the prices of drugs by 6,000 percent. Martin Shkreli, at a conference, said he didn’t go far enough when raising the price of HIV drug Daraprim by more than 5,000 percent. Now with the rapid growth of digital and medical technology some may have to rethink their strategies for the future.
