The market appears to anticipate rapid growth from Apple.

24/7 Wall St. forecasts the publicly traded U.S. companies that will have the highest profits in the year ahead every January.  For 2012, Apple is likely to pass Exxon Mobil as the most profitable corporation in the Fortune 500. It already passed the oil giant in market capitalization for a while last year. The market appears to anticipate rapid growth from Apple comparable to that of the past two years. The stock has reached several all-time highs recently and now trades around $425, up nearly 25 percent in the past year.

A survey of employers found a huge jump in U.S. employers saying they were having trouble filling open jobs.

There are 13 million people in the United States looking for work.  It seems like anyone who wants to hire someone would have little difficulty doing so.

But many employers are saying otherwise.

Women embracing new technology at a higher rate than men

Women express more interest in buying tablets, laptops and smartphones.

Two thousand consumers were recently surveyed about their buying habits with unexpected results.  The survey found that women are embracing new technology and gadgets at a higher rate than men. The insight, provided by retailer HSN, has left men everywhere responding with a characteristic “Whuh?”

People are watching less broadcast and cable TV, according to a survey from Accenture. Less than a third intend to buy a new TV in 2012. Smartphones, tablets and computers are eroding traditional TV viewing — bad news for TV manufacturers and traditional content providers.
