A national survey shows most Americans are confused about what cloud computing is

A majority of Millennials, believe stormy weather can interfere with cloud computing.

“The cloud” is the tech buzzword of the year.  But many Americans remain foggy about what the cloud really is and how it works. A new national survey by Wakefield Research, commissioned by Citrix, showed that most respondents believe the cloud is related to weather, while some referred to pillows, drugs and toilet paper. Those in the know claim working from home in their “birthday suit” is the cloud’s greatest advantage. The good news is that even those that don’t know exactly what the cloud is recognize its economic benefits and think the cloud is a catalyst for small business growth.

Are we ready for driverless cars?

Governor Jerry Brown of California will most likely sign off soon on the proposed bullet train between Los Angeles and San Francisco.  It has been characterized by the Obama administration and its other supporters as an effective way to reduce highway congestion. These costs amount to more than $100 billion annually in wasted time and higher fuel expenses.

Childhood obesity linked to antibiotic use in infants: Studies

Children who were given antibiotics in their first six months had a higher incidence of obesity later.

A higher risk of obesity has been found in the use of antibiotics in young children, according to new studies.  Two new studies, one on mice and one on humans, conclude that changes of the intestinal bacteria caused by antibiotics could be responsible.
